Western Southern Tier Building Officials Association (WSTBOA) is an association of professionals working together to properly ensure residential and commercial structures are built to code. The Officials also work towards uniform enforcement of the Building codes. The organization provides educational programs on codes throughout the year and at their Annual Educational Conference in September.  WSTBOA’s mission is to enhance leadership and consistency in the understanding, application, and the enforcement of NEW YORK STATE family of building codes.

 

Regular business is conducted at lunch time meetings on the second Thursday of every other month, alternating usually between the Dunkirk and Mayville Fire Training Centers. Educational programs, usually for Code Enforecment Officials (CEOs) and other related professionals are scheduled around regular meetings or at special meetings throughout the year. Contact WSTBOA Treasurer Allan L. Zurawski (bills2222@msn.com) to receive email notices of events. Application for membership is open to all code enforcement officers, design professionals, contractors and all parties interested in code issues.

WSTBOA is the region's affiliated member of New York State Building Officials' Conference (NYSBOC) and the International Code Council (ICC).

The Town of Chautauqua is currently interviewing for a Full-time code enforcement officer. Position will be 40 hr./week with health and pension benefits. Pay is based on qualifications and experience.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction, or the building trades, or building construction inspection experience with a governmental agency in a responsible position involving enforcement of rules, codes, regulations or laws.
